With the new pellet plant at the Assling site, THEURL utilises every part of the tree trunk. The raw material wood is turned into valuable solid wood products, such as glulam and cross-laminated timber (CLTPLUS), as well as planed goods and sawn timber through to high-quality wood pellets. THEURL stands for sustainable resource utilisation and technological innovation. The pellets are made directly on site from sawmill by-products – regional, clean and efficient. A further step towards sustainable heating and a regional circular economy.

How our wood pellets are made

THEURL only uses sawmill by-products from the production of sawn timber, planed timber, CLTPLUS and glulam for pellet production.

The pellets are pressed through a perforated mould at a high temperature. The low wood moisture content ensures high heat output and a long burning time.
